Who Are we?
The Voices of Prahran is a group of locals who strive to improve democracy. We came together because we felt that our voices weren’t being heard.
We’ve observed our living standards declining, our built environment is degrading and the things that matter to us are not being heard by current political parties.
The Voices of Prahran is not a political party but rather seeks political representation that truly supports the diversity of Prahran and someone who is able to truly represent us in our State Government on matters that are important to us.
What is the Voices of Prahran?
A group of Prahran locals who bridge the gap between people and politics. Our objective is to make the voices of our residents heard. We engage directly with our politicians, and we hold them accountable for listening to the voices of the community which they represent.
The Voices of Prahran is democracy in action
Prahran has seen huge changes over the past decades, it is one of the most diverse electorates in all of Victoria.
Our streetscapes are changing, high density living is becoming the norm, those who come into our communities to work and to play are changing and resources are being stretched. So many in our community are suffering from the pressures of living costs and as such are being locked out of being able to access activities in their own community. Both within and beyond our immediate community there is anxiety that climate change is not being addressed quickly enough, that diversity and who we are is being challenged and that Australian’s are being confronted with American style division, and this affects us all.
The power to change this belongs to us, all we ask is that you use your voice to speak up and to be listened to.
